The ASE Automobile/Light Truck Test Series includes eight certification exams: Engine Repair, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Manual Drive Train and Axles, Suspension and Steering, Brakes, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Heating and Air Conditioning, and Engine Performance. Sucessfully passing all 8 tests will give you a master certification. The Automobile/Light Truck test series is available in either Paper/Pencil or Computer-Based Testing format.

ASE testing is available year-round. Whether you register on the first day of a registration window or the last, you will always have 90 days from the original date of purchase to schedule an appointment and take your test at any of our several hundred test centers across the country.

The certification has an education level of an Associates of Arts or Associates of Sciences degree or higher and has a work experience requirement of more than 2 years, or requires obtaining a ‘core’ level certification from the same organization.
