To become certified in the subspecialty of Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology, physicians must:

- At the time of application, maintain current, valid ABIM certification in Cardiovascular Disease.

- Satisfactorily complete formal training or requisite practice experience.

- Demonstrate clinical competence, procedural skills, and moral and ethical behavior in the clinical setting.

- Hold a valid, unrestricted and unchallenged license to practice medicine

- Pass the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Certification Examination
