To become a fully certified MST technician, one must pass the MST Certification examination. This is a "stand alone" Journeyman-level offering ... a "hands on" type of certification. The Study Guide for the course is a graphical presentation of all three sections of the material - soft skills, electronics used, and technical material concerning the installation and proper connection of the accessory equipment usually found in the flat screen environment.

The certification corresponds to a specialty within a recognized occupation. For example, Oncology Nurse and Pediatric Nurse are specialties within the nursing field, so Certified Oncology Nurse and Certified Pediatric Nurse would be classified as specialty certifications.
