Position: Mechanical Design Engineer

Design automobile components for better performance or user experience. Collaborate with cross functional teams, including marketing, RandD, software/calibration department to understand product requirement, goals, and constraints. Generate creative design concepts to address these requirements. Use Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and other tools to create detailed product designs, and prototypes. Ensure that its visually appealing, functional, and manufacturable. Conduct structural, thermal, and flow analyses to validate product design performance and safety. Build and test physical prototypes to evaluate design concepts, make improvements, and refine product functionality. Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and design change records.

This position requires a Masters degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience in mechanical design field. Must also have demonstrated experience with each of the following: (1) Researching and reverse engineering complex mechanical systems to gain understanding in the design; (2) Various manufacturing processes, including machining, casting, injection molding, and additive manufacturing (3D printing); (3) Using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for creating detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs; (4) Working with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation tools for stress analysis, acoustic analysis, fluid dynamics, and other performance assessments; and (5) Analyzing and finding solutions to technical problems with mechanical systems. Will accept experience gained before, during or after Masters program. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently. Must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
