All about the role:

Are you a dynamic and experienced Product Care Engineer ready to elevate your career to new heights? We are currently seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a mechanical structures engineer with opportunities to work also with the electro-mechanical and hydraulic systems of a dishwasher.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of technical input, providing invaluable insights and direction for current and future plastic tub updates. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in driving excellence in New Product Introduction through hands-on engineering support, contributing to major redesigns, cost reduction projects, and quality improvement initiatives.

What you'll do:

  • Conduct feasibility studies to optimize cost and performance to meet required Company cost/consumer expectations.

  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to ensure project success.

  • Manage technical design aspects of a project from inception through production launch. Drive product and feature development based on consumer insight results, market trends, and strategic business plan.

  • Develop project investment requests (IR's) and cost budgets, develop and maintain milestone schedules and execute projects and/or new product within published time line.

  • Design, develop, and implement robust designs with proper verification and validation (DVR's, test procedures, etc.) for seamless product introduction within the agreed upon timeline.

  • Develop and track test plan to ensure reliability and safety objectives are met. Initiate relevant project and change documentation (ECR's/ECN's, IR's, Deviations, etc).

  • Create and maintain CAD part models, assemblies and drawings using CATIA V5 and TeamCenter; prepare component three-dimensional (3D) layouts, design concepts and design drawings.

  • Use Six Sigma methodology and advanced statistical tools for problem solving and project work to create new, innovative, and efficient designs that improve product performance and quality.

  • Lead and participate in FMEA team to identify failure modes of product and related processes.

Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering preferred.

  • Fundamental knowledge in Mechanical Design, Hydraulics and Fluid mechanics is preferred.

  • Troubleshooting issues and root cause investigation of mechanical components.

  • Knowledge and experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) would be a plus.

This position will be based at our Dishwashers man facturing plant in Kinston, NC.
