Job Opening: Payroll and Human Resource Specialist

Blacktop Service Company, a heavy highway construction company located in Humboldt, Iowa, is looking for a Payroll and Human Resource Specialist. Successful candidates must be highly motivated, organized, able to work in an office setting as a team, and able to efficiently process payroll and ensure compliance with HR laws. Duties will include processing payroll which includes tracking hours, job locations, and per diem. Individual is also responsible for HR duties including maintaining employee files, administering benefit programs, and maintaining compliance with our 401k program, garnishments, health insurance, and all other benefits, will execute employee enrollments and terminations in benefit programs, coordinate and conduct the new employee on-boarding process and present benefit packages to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions. Required Skills:

• Degree or equivalent experience in payroll and Human Resources.
• Strong HR knowledge across all disciplines; recruiting, compensation, benefits, employment law, and employee relations.
• 5 years of experience in payroll and HR functions desired.
