Purpose and Scope:

The Senior Coordinator, Design Engineering (Draftsman) will be responsible for maintaining the Engineering Document Control System at the Roanoke Rapids Mill. He/She will assist in preparing drawings as required for improvement projects, modifications, and cost reduction to support the Engineering department team at the Roanoke Rapids Mill. This role will report to the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain all engineering documents, drawings in electronic, soft copy & hardcopy format.

  • *

Maintain mill equipment numbers and drawing numbers.

  • Oversee and maintain drawing documentation standards.

  • *

Assist Engineering Manager and other departmental leads when required.

  • Enter new spare part information as required into Integrity.

  • *

Maintain equipment records for the machine operating manuals / maintenance list etc.

  • Coordinate with Project Engineers / Engineering Firms/ Operations/Maintenance /Contractors for drawings/document requests.

  • *

Participate in process related seminars, educational workshops, personality development.

  • Develop new or revise existing drawings in AutoCad as required.

  • *

Develop plan layouts and other drawings for improvement projects and modifications.

  • Assist with coordinating data and information for capex jobs and projects.

Maintain documentation room for efficient drawings storage and retrieval.

  • Operate and maintain the health of plotter & copier machines, which are relevant to drawing office.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and user experience with AutoCAD, computer-aided design software, as well as 3D modelling software

  • Strong organizational skills are a must.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instructions.

  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of management.

  • *

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,

  • common fractions, and decimals.

  • *

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions, both oral and written.

  • *

Demonstrated communication skills (written/oral).

  • *

Competent in computer applications, such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and ability to learn proprietary software programs, including JDE.

Education/Training/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • *

Associate's degree (AS) or bachelor's degree (BA/BS) preferred.

  • Three (3) or more years related manufacturing experience and/or training in the field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
