JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Assistant Dean for the Academic Enhancement Program reports to the Associate Dean for Student Success, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and assists J.D. and LL.M students in the development of the critical skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in law school and in practice. Through a thorough understanding of the Law School curriculum and best practices in legal learning, studying and exam-taking skills, the Assistant Dean will support students through trainings, group presentations, and one-on-one counseling, and evaluate the success of those programs. Principal duties: First Year Program: -Design and teach skills workshops to assist first year J.D and LL.M students transition effectively and smoothly to the study of law. -Work with 1L and LL.M teaching faculty to develop appropriate workshop contents for skills essential to the mastery of the law school curriculum. -Administer learning and study skills assessment for all incoming first year students. -Collect data and analyze results of the skills assessment. Use the results to improve program content. -Provide individualized academic counseling to all interested law students to address varying academic and non-academic concerns to achieve improved academic performance. -Recruit, train, and supervise study group leaders. -Manage the study group program in collaboration with 1L faculty. Academic Counseling for Other Students (2L, 3L, and LL.M): -Provide individualized academic counseling to all interested law students to address varying academic and non-academic concerns to achieve improved academic performance. -Provide practical resources to boost effective student learning and for mastery of exam taking skills. Academic Monitoring and Support: -Monitor and track student academic progress for all students. -Collect all student grades at the end of each semester. -Sort and analyze the grades by student classifications as well as do an overall analysis of all grades. -Prepare a grade report for the Dean and the Associate Dean. -Identify students who are academically at risk and reach out to them individually. -Provide guidance and instruction for students...
