ROLE OVERVIEW:

Applies knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems to improve process uptime and productivity. Is the site leader for the mechanical predictive and preventative maintenance programs, reinforce utilization of precision maintenance techniques and conducts appropriate root cause investigation for equipment failures. Utilize data and statical analysis to evaluate and recommend equipment repairs, modifications, maintenance program changes or replacement to improve OEE and reduce cost.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical predictive and preventative maintenance programs, reinforce utilization of precision maintenance techniques in coordination with facility maintenance team.
  • Develops repair/rebuild plans for mechanical equipment, such as machine rolls, gearboxes, belt drives and drive shaft systems.
  • Participates in projects that support the maintenance, repair, upgrade, or complete replacement of facility process equipment to support reliability or process efficiency improvements.
  • Manages projects and provides scope development, cost and time estimates, evaluation of costs and benefits, tracking, controlling and reporting.
  • Creates training manuals and conducts training for machine operators and maintenance team as it relates to machine function, operation and repairs.
  • Performs troubleshooting and analysis and develops strategies to improve process uptime and reduce total cost to maintain and operate process equipment.
  • Maintains complete and accurate records of all work performed and prepares monthly reliability reports.
  • Supports the recording of complete and detailed equipment documentation within the CMMS system and equipment files.
  • Supports the maintenance team as needed, including specs for repairs.
  • Stays current of engineering technologies and trends for process improvement potential.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

Education and Experience

  • Typically possesses Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 4-8 years of experience.

     

Knowledge and Skills

Possesses thorough understanding of mechanical engineering with experience in machine design, development, and troubleshooting.

Possesses working knowledge of industrial maintenance best practices for lubrication, condition monitoring and reliability improvement.

Formal lubrication, vibration analysis and ultrasound training or willingness to complete training.

Possesses working knowledge of cost estimation, specification, and codes.

Possesses strong interpersonal, communications, project management, and time management skills.

Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills.

Possesses technical acumen and understanding of financial concepts (cost analysis, budgets).

Demonstrates strong CAD and Microsoft Project skills.
