Job Description:

This position will contribute to the University of Florida’s information security program in providing service request support, specifically in the processing of eDiscovery, litigation support, and computer investigations as well as contributing to the university's information security program in the areas of threat management, vulnerability management, and incident management.

More specifically, this entry-level technical position will be involved in such work duties as:

  • Coordinating with the university's General Counsel in the fulfillment of public records requests and litigation support requests involving electronic discovery of digital communication and electronically stored information (ESI), through the use of specialized software and established processes to construct and execute search strategies required to locate ESI responsive to requests

  • Contributing to requests involving the need for computer investigations involving UFIT resources through the application of digital forensics techniques in the collection and processing of relevant digital assets

  • Monitoring and analyzing information from network and information systems for emerging threats

  • Helping to identify and assess security weaknesses in the university's computing infrastructure

  • Contributing to the university’s incident preparedness and execution of the incident management plan in response to security incidents

Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.

Vacation-accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31, when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.

Expected Salary:

$62,365 – $65,000; commensurate based on education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience.

Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and skills:

  • Two years of combined IT or security experience with a broad range of exposure to data, networks, systems, and web services

  • Programming, scripting skills, and expressing search terms using regular expressions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, outstanding communicator; interpersonal skills; and the ability to work collegially and interact effectively with a diverse constituency

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision

  • Accuracy, high-level attention to detail and a customer service-oriented approach and mindset

  • Ability to think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational structure

Special Instructions to Applicants:

This role will be based in one of our Gainesville offices and may include a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office (Wednesday required), and 2 days remote.

This position requires U.S. work authorization.
