Job Opening: CAD Technician Drafter

Adecco is assisting a local client in hiring a CAD Technician/Drafter in East Providence, RI to work Monday to Friday on 1st shift from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at a pay range of $40,000 to $60,000 per year.

CAD Technician/Drafter Responsibilities:

• Use SolidWorks CAD/AutoCAD to detail progressive tools and dies accurately and efficiently, within specified time frames, to needed engineering specifications.

• Create 3D models & 2D engineering drawings with computer aided software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD); and build up BOM & specification sheet (Specs).

• Detail diagrams, schematics, layouts, multi-view, and various drawings according to internal and/or customer needs.

• Prepare 2D/3D detailed drawings, making certain the design meets the customer part and die or machine specifications.

• Modify/improve products to eliminate malfunctions and obtain specified functional and operational performance.

• Evaluate and confirm plastic molding (e.g., injection) & metal tooling process (e.g., progressive die) according to mechanical mold design principle.

• Provide support to tool room staff and machine operators where needed.

CAD Technician/Drafter Qualifications:

• Successful completion of high school diploma or equivalent.

• 1-2 years of CAD training at a technical school or equivalent experience.

• Must be proficient using SolidWorks CAD/AutoCAD systems to design and create drawings.

• Must be proficient using Microsoft Office products.

• Able to research, understand and implement new technologies for possible cost savings and process improvements.

• Must have the ability to work independently, proactively and meet deadlines.

• Utilizes strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and present technical data, documents, information, and design specifications.

Pay Details: $40,000.00 to $60,000.00 per year
