[[The drafter assists the professional technical staff and senior technicians in research, design, development, testing or manufacturing process improvements to enhance CTC's operating efficiency and effectiveness of the staff and to achieve contractual requirements.

- Assists the professional technical staff and senior technicians in research, design, development, testing or manufacturing process which includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Programs, operates, maintains and repairs a variety of standard laboratory test equipment and machinery.
- Conducts a variety of experiments and testing, such as mechanical, electronic or electrical, using established methods.
- Prepares testspecimens and performs sample preparation and metallographic examination of diverse materials using equipment such as light optical and scanning electron microscopy.
- Extracts, compiles and computes engineering data after thorough test analysis, and presents the data in prescribed form.
- Orders laboratory equipment as necessary.
- Performs additional responsibilities as appropriate or as requested.
