Job Opening: Mechanical Designer/ Drafter

The engineering team is looking to hire a temporary Mechanical Designer/ Drafter to support creating and management of drawings. This individual will spend most of their hours drawing/designing in coordination with the technical staff needs and requirements. This is a temporary benefits-eligible position with the duration of time as stated below. Duration: 6 months Hours: 40 hours/week Position Responsibilities Support engineering team by creating and managing complex CAD models and assemblies in NX Create engineering drawings using GD&T per ASME Y14.5 Basic Qualifications 6+ years of experience Proficiency in NX CAD tools Experience in Product Data Management or Product Lifecycle Management Experience detailing and drafting machined part and fabricated frame drawings for manufacturing Experience creating and managing large assembly drawings Preferred Qualifications Proficiency with Teamcenter, particularly NX integration with Teamcenter Use and proficiency in GD&T as applied per ASME drawing standards Ability to conduct assembly tolerance and fit checks Experience designing and drafting sheet metal parts and weldments Experience routing in CAD Solid mechanical and analytical skills - systems thinking approach - first principles Experience converting scanned data into clearly detailed CAD models Demonstrated experience in life-cycle development of mechanical system hardware and within a complex system or product Demonstrated proficiency in hands-on hardware design, prototyping, fabrication and assembly Ability to write and speak clearly about technical subject matter Flexibility and responsiveness in a fast-paced, dynamic and small team environment Location This position will be located at First Mode's headquarters in Seattle, WA and will be required to work in office >60% of working hours Total Rewards BaseRange: $62 - $67/hr Benefits & Perks 100% employer-paid health insurance (medical, dental, vision) Flexible PTO with 12 weeks of supplementary paid parental leave Commuter benefits (parking & public transportation) A culture that encourages professional growth with learning and development reimbursements Open and collaborative workspace with free office snacks and lunches Hybrid work model #LI-Hybrid First Mode is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with First Mode is governed on the basis of merit, competence, and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status.
