Job Opening: Lead Draftsperson

Worksite: 50-52 Metro Way, Secaucus, NJ 07094Job Duties: - Operate as the Team Leader for Kadan Drafting Office.- Analyze drafting needs for each project with Project Managers.- Research best software to achieve project goals, then assign the best team members to accomplish goals and delegate project aspects based on availability and needs.- Perform technical reviews of all draftings from team members to check for errors in construction methods, dimensions, materials, and finishes.- Create drafts for engineering consultations while liaising with outside engineers to achieve engineering requirements as required by each project.- Troubleshoot with computer numerical control (“CNC”) department and Shop leadership to facilitate fast changes and resolve design issues to current build drawings.- Ensure all team members adhere to the Kadan Standards drafting package layouts and requirements when finalizing packages for approval by the client.Minimum Requirements:- Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Architecture, Scenic Design or a related field.- 18 months of experience working as a Draftsperson or in a related occupation. Experience must include:> 18 months of experience executing designs for Theatrical Fabrication projects;> 18 months of experience drafting temporary structure fabrication plans to guide shop floor carpenters, welders, and CNC operators in the execution of their duties; and> 18 months of experience reviewing and revising drafts for fitment accuracy throughout the installation process before shop fabrication can be executed.- Demonstrated proficiency using AutoCAD 2D and 3D, 3DsMAX, InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, VectorWorks and Google SketchUp.Send CVs to employment2024@kadaninc.com and reference #LD23001.
