Summary About the Position: This position is with Headquarters, US Army Corps of Engineers, Transatlantic Middle East District. The actual duty station will be in Winchester, Virginia A relocation and or recruitment incentive may be authorized. Responsibilities Develop detailed civil, structural, architectural, and electrical contract drawings from basic instructions. Utilize computer aided drafting and design systems to develop, adapt, and readapt working drawings, charts, and tables provided by engineers. Create new files, details, prints at any scale, and manipulate files. Create as-constructed drawings from marked up drawings provided by a contractor upon completion of construction. Check drawings prepared by others, shop drawings, and plans prepared by engineering staff for modifications or changes. Coordinate individual assignments with technical units assigned to lead on major features of the project. GS-2 General and/or Specialized Experience: Three months of general experience which includes (1) any type of work that demonstrates my ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with engineering aid." OR Education: High school graduation (or equivalent) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04) GS-6 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using computer-aided drafting systems to update basic to complex engineering drawings for projects focused on civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and/or electrical designs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). GS-7 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes creating engineering designs using computer-aided software to prepare final design drawings provided by engineering division staff engineers to depict objects and features.Updating drafting systems for complex engineering drawings for projects focused on civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and/ or electrical designs. Analyze drawings to determine the proper drawing specification to solicit personnel information to engineers. Manage current engineering drawing database to identify proper file codes for engineering and technical documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Design Organizational Performance Analysis Technical Competence Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
