Job Opening: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Tameer, Inc. seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer in West Hempstead, NY. Job duties include: Oversee mechanical projects from contract execution to final completion sign off. Research and design mechanical HVAC equipment and systems. Evaluate mechanical designs for energy efficiency and suggest improvements. Prepare material and equipment lists, purchase orders, cost analyses, and estimated production costs for projects. Diagnose equipment failures and recommend improvements and modifications to systems and sequences of operations.Candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent as determined by a qualified credentials evaluation service, and at least one year of professional experience working in engineering project management within the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry. Must have at least one year of experience managing large-scale mechanical projects from contract execution to final completion sign off. Must have at least one year of experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting variable refrigerant flow units. Must have at least one year of experience providing training to HVAC technicians and other personnel on proper handling and safety procedures related to refrigerant gases. Must have at least one year of experience implementing sustainable construction practices to reduce resource consumption and apply life-cycle costing principles.
