Pharmacist Interns mix and dispense prescribed medicines and pharmaceutical preparations under the personal supervision of a pharmacist. They also dispense medicines that do not require prescription and may offer consulting services to physicians and patrons on the proper selection and use of medicines. Interns procure, store, and issue pharmaceutical materials and supplies. In addition, they may be required to maintain files and records and submit pharmacy reports. Intern pharmacists must understand the use, composition, and effect of drugs, and be able to test them for purity and strength. No credit for internship training will be allowed prior to licensure as an intern. Requirements: 1) Must be of good moral character and temperate habits. 2) Must complete State and federal criminal background checks. 3) Must be enrolled as a student in a college of pharmacy approved by the Board. Or Must be a graduate of a foreign college of pharmacy and have obtained Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee Certification. 4) The intern license remains valid as long as the intern maintains active student status in a Board approved College of Pharmacy and for six months after graduation from a College of Pharmacy. Registration fee: $81.25.
