A life-only licensee is authorized to transact insurance coverage on human lives, including benefits of endowment and annuities, and may include benefits in the event of death or dismemberment by accident and benefits for disability income. Qualifications - Minimum Age: 18 years - Residency: California residency is not required - Pre-licensing Experience/Education: 20 hours of an approved life-only course and 12-hour approved course on ethics and the California Insurance Code - Entity: Individual and Business Entity Fees: - Application: $188 for two-year term - Renewal: $188 each two-year term - Fingerprint processing fee: The fee at the California Department of Insurance (CDI) test centers is $59. The fee at PSI test centers is $68.95. Other license information and requirements: - Exam required: Yes - Exam Fee: $55 per scheduled examination date at a California Department of Insurance examination site or $88 per scheduled examination date at a PSI examination site. - Examination information: PSI Services, LLC, schedules CDI's life-only agent applicant examinations.
