DESCRIPTION OF OCCUPATION: A Physician Assistant provides routine and emergency medical care under the supervision of physicians. May take detailed patient histories, perform physical examinations, make tentative diagnoses, and order and interpret laboratory tests. REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSING: Professional requirements: Arrange to have Federation Discipline Report sent directly to the Hawaii Medical Board (HMB). Have National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) send verification of current certification to HMB. Complete verification form signed by you and your supervising physician who must be currently licensed in Hawaii. Education requirements: Be a graduate of an approved physician assistant training program. EXAMINATIONS: National Certifying Exam. FEES: Between February 1, 2022 and January 31, 2023, pay $182 (application $20, license $32, compliance resolution fund $110, ½ renewal for 2nd year of 2-year license period $20).
