License: Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)

Emergency Medical Technicians must be licensed in Idaho through the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, Emergency Medical Services Bureau. There are four levels of levels of practice: First Responder, EMT-Basic, Advanced EMT, and Paramedic. Applicants must: 1.) Successfully complete a training course and be at least 16 years of age; 2.) Pass the National Registry of EMT’s (NREMT) written and practical exams at the EMR level or higher; 3.) Secure affiliation with an Idaho licensed EMS agency; 4.) Submit to and pass a Criminal History Check by the Department of Health and Welfare; 5.) Submit an application with required documents and fees. Term: Licenses are valid for three years before renewal
