Funeral Directors Internship: 1. Twenty-one years of age or at least 18 and legally emancipated. 2. Thirty semester hours (basic freshman courses) in a SACS accredited university prior to registering internship. 3. One year internship, fully employed for 40 hours a week, and must assist in at least 25 cases. 4. Must pass a state board exam with an average of at least 75. Embalmers Funeral Director Internship: 1. Twenty-one years of age or at least 18 and legally emancipated. 2. Fifteen months in an accredited mortuary science program. 3. One year internship, fully employed for 40 hours a week, and must assist in at least 25 cases. Up to six months may be served prior to attending mortuary science program. 4. Must pass a state board exam with an average of at least 75.
