License: Cosmetology Instructor

To receive a Cosmetology Instructor License in Michigan, an applicant must have attained a high school diploma or its equivalent, have a current Michigan cosmetology license, and have at least 3 years of practical experience in natural hair cultivation, hair service, skin care services, and manicuring services (which includes 1 year in a cosmetology establishment). Finally, the applicant must have at least 500 hours of instructor training, and must pass the theory and practical examination administered by PSI Services. Upon completion of these requirements, an applicant can then submit an Instructor License application along with the appropriate fee.
