License: Insurance Agent (Insurance Producer)

To receive an Insurance Agent (Insurance Producer) License in the State of Michigan, an applicant needs to be at least 18 years of age and have completed the required pre-licensing education. The pre-licensing education consists of completing an approve 20-hour classroom course or an approved self-study course, and taking the corresponding examination within 12 months of course completion. Finally, an applicant must successfully complete the Michigan licensing examination. Once these requirements have been met, an applicant must file an Electronic Resident Licensing (ERL) application through the National Insurance Producer Registry website, along with the $10.00 application fee and $5.00 transaction fee.
