<h3>Occupational Description</h3><br>Public adjuster means any person who, for compensation, performs any of the following: Acts for or aids an insured in negotiating for or effecting the settlement of a first-party claim for loss or damage to real or personal property of the insured; Advertises for employment as a Public Adjuster of first-party claims or otherwise solicits business or represents to the public that the person is a Public Adjuster of first-party claims for loss or damage to real or personal property of an insured; Directly or indirectly solicits the business of investigating or adjusting losses or of advising an insured about first-party claims for loss or damage to real or personal property of the insured. <br><h3>Licensure Requirements</h3><br>Applicants must: 1. Be at least 18 years of age; 2. Have a principal place of residence or a principal place of business in Nebraska; 3. Have not committed any act that is grounds for denial pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. § 44-9211; 4. Have passed the Public Adjuster licensing examination; 5. Be trustworthy, reliable, and of good reputation; 6. Have proof of financial responsibility ($20,000 Surety Bond) 7. Maintain an office in Nebraska with public access by reasonable appointment or regular business hours; 8. Have completed the Uniform Public Adjuster License Application.<br><h3>Fees</h3><br>Initial License Fee- $50.00<br><h3>Renewal</h3><br>Renewal is required biennially. The renewal fee is $50.00. Resident public adjusters will be required to complete twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education to qualify for renewal, which must include three hours of ethics training.
