Categories of licensure are "licensed" and "certified." Applicants for Licensed Residential Appraiser must: 1) Complete 153 hours of approved instruction. 2) Obtain 2,400 hours of active appraising experience (as an intern or appraiser) in not less than 2 years. 3) Pass the Appraisal examination (or show proof of active licensure in another state). Applicants for Certified Residential Appraiser must: 1) Have an Associate degree or higher, or at least 21 semester hours in approved subjects. 2) Complete 203 hours of approved instruction. 3) Obtain 2,500 hours of active, full time appraising experience (as an intern or appraiser) in not less than 2 years; 500 hours of which must include complex residential appraising as defined in NRS 645C. 4) Pass the Appraisal examination (or show proof of active licensure in another state). Real Estate Appraiser Intern: Those wishing to enter the real estate appraising field without having met the above experience or education requirements may register with the Division as a Real Estate Appraiser Intern. Applicants must complete 78 hours of approved pre-licensing coursework prior to registering with the division. Reciprocity: Those holding a valid appraiser license from another state must: 1) Submit the completed application (log and experience verification not required). 2) Submit a copy of their license. 3) Show proof of completing 3 hours of education in Nevada Appraisal Law (AZ applicants exempt). 4) Provide a certified Letter of Good Standing from the licensing state. Fees may be subject to change. Fees are: examination (standard)--$100; application--$100; license or certificate--$240; Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council fee--$80; biennial renewal --$320. Registered Intern application--$100 and registration--$190 (valid 2 years).
