<p>Plumbers assemble, install, and repair in buildings the pipes, fittings, fixtures and other apparatus of water and drainage systems for bringing in the water supply and removing liquid and water-carried wastes, according to specifications and plumbing codes. Plumbing applies to pipes within the foundation wall of the building or within one length of pipe from the building. Apprentice Plumbers learn to perform above duties under direct supervision of a Master or Journeyman Plumber.</p> <p><strong>Legislation:</strong> NH RSA 153:27-153:38; Administrative Rules Chapter Saf-Mec 100-500</p> <p><strong>Identification Card Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Submit an application with an employer/apprentice agreement letter to the Board</li> <li>Apprentice identification cards must be carried at all times and presented to an inspector upon request</li> <li>Apprentice plumbers must be currently enrolled in an apprenticeship program with the US Department of Labor to obtain an identification card renewal</li> </ul> <p><strong>Examination:</strong> Required upon completion of an approved apprenticeship program</p> <p><strong>Continuing Education:</strong> Apprentice plumbers must be enrolled in an approved training program through the US Department of Labor. They must remain current with their education and employment to remain in the program. Proof of training and employment may be required for renewal.</p> <p><strong>Fees</strong>:</p> <ul> <li>Initial apprentice registration: $90</li> <li>Renewal: $80</li> </ul> <ul>Identification cards expire on the last day of the month of the apprentice's birth</ul> <p><strong>Reciprocity:</strong> Not permitted</p> <p>revised Jan 2018</p>
