Industrial hygienists conduct health programs in industrial plants or governmental organizations to recognize, evaluate, and control occupational health hazards and diseases. They collect samples of dust, gasses, vapors, and other potentially toxic materials for analysis. Besides chemical hazards, industrial hygienists also deal with physical (noise, radiation, pressure, temperature), biological and ergonomic hazards.
