JOB DESCRIPTION: Water works operators control water treatment plant machines and equipment that purify and clarify water for human consumption and industrial use. Some of the duties of an operator include monitoring and maintaining equipment, determining and regulating chemical treatment, and testing water samples for impurities. Various branches at the city and state government employ the majority of water works operators.
