MEDICAL LABORATORY SUPERVISOR<br><br> Provides supervision of testing personnel and reports test results. Responsible for operation in absence of director. <br><br>REQUIREMENTS:<br>Be a licensed physician or hold a Doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinial laboratory science, with 2 years climinal laboratory work experience in the area they wish to supervise<BR><BR>OR<BR>Unlimited medical laboratory tehnologist license, 4 years subsequent experience<BR><BR>OR<BR>Technologist license limited to one of chemistry, hematology, immunohematology or microbiology, 4 years subsequent experience. (License Limited.)<BR><BR>OR<BR>Special analyst license limited to one subspecialty, 4 years subsequent experience. (License limited.) <br><br>CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: <br>INITIAL SUPERVISOR'S LICENSE ONLY: 60 contact hours through professional workshops, seminars, or collegecourse work, 45 hours in management (8 through formal workshop programs). (15 contact hours each college semester hour). 15 contact hours of technical intermediate/advanced level including technical material related to clinical laboratory practice. <br><br>RENEWAL<br> License must be renewed every two years <br><br>NATIONAL CERTIFICATION AGENCIES:<BR>Approved for specialities as indicated.<br>Andrology (A), Chemistry (Ch), Cytogenetics (Cg), Flow Cytometry (FC), Hematology(He), Histocompatibility/Immunogenetics (HI), Immunohematology (I), Microbiology (M), Toxicology (T) <br>American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) (Ch, He, I, M, FC) <br>National Registry in Clinical Chemistry (NRCC) (Ch, T) <br>National Registry of Microbiologists (NRM) (M)<br>[ National Certification Agency for Medical Laboratory Personnel (NCA) (Ch, He, I, M, Cg) is now part of ASCP Board of Registry]<br>American Board of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ABHI) (HI) <br>American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) (A)
