LICENSED PROFESSIONAL ART THERAPIST <br><br> Professional art therapy means rendering or offering to render to individuals, groups, organizations, or the general public any service involving the application of art therapy principles, techniques, methods, or procedures, and includes, but is not limited to, therapeutic interventions. <br><br>REQUIREMENTS: At least 18 years of age, of good moral character and uses accepted professional and ethical standards. <br><br> EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: A master's or doctoral degree in art therapy from a program approved by the American Art Therapy Association or accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs, and completion of at least 1000 supervised client contact hours after the master’s degree was conferred. <br><br>EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS: Passing the board certification of the Art Therapy Credentials Board or holding a national credential as a certified art therapist.<br><br>CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Forty hours.<br><br>RENEWAL: Application and fees and has not had a professional credential refused, revoked, suspended, or restricted.
