LIMITED LICENSED ELECTRICIANS <br><br>The Limited Licensed Electrician (LLE) state license is only required by electricians performing work in a municipality utilizing the Division of Fire Prevention for permits, inspections and covers work less than $25,000 per project. Always first check with local government to see if they accept the LLE or if they have a local licensing requirement for permits and inspections. The LLE license is issued to individuals passing the LLE trade exam. The LLE license requirements is defined in T.C.A. _x0015_ 62-6-102(d) and _x0015_ 68-102-150.<br><br>REQUIREMENTS: <br>Photo-ID and Social Security Number. Exam (PSI is the exam vendor). Completed Application. Fee of $50.00 for two (2) year license. <br><br>EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS:<br> The Tennessee Limited License Electrician exam has 40 questions and a time limit of 2 hours. A score of 72.5% is required (29 correct). Topics covered on the exam are general knowledge, electrical installation requirements, services, feeders, branch circuits, over-current protection, grounding and bonding, conductors and cables, raceways and boxes, hazardous locations, special occupancies, special equipment, low voltage, alarms, signaling systems, communications, lighting, signs, and general use equipment.<br><br>CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:<br> As of this time Tennessee does not require continuing education for the Limited Licensed Electrician.<br><br>RENEWAL:<br> Licenses are valid for two (2) years from the date of their issuance and may be renewed within the thirty (30) days immediately preceding their date of expiration.
