Interior designers identify, research or develop solutions to problems relating to the function or quality of an interior environment. They perform services relating to interior spaces, including programming, design analysis and space planning of non-load-bearing interior construction. They apply aesthetic principles by using specialized knowledge of interior construction, building codes, equipment, materials, or furnishings. Preparation of interior design plans, specifications or related documents about the design of non-load-bearing interior spaces is a major part of their jobs.
